I'm Dr. Ashley Dela Cruz — Doctor of Physical Therapy, Certified Pilates Instructor, and dry needling specialist, born and raised right here in Jacksonville, FL.
My path to physical therapy was personal. As a competitive swimmer, I experienced overuse injuries firsthand. Then, right before PT school, a car accident left me with whiplash, TMJ dysfunction, chronic headaches, and back pain. I went through physical therapy myself, and the care I received was rushed, inconsistent, and generic. I saw many different providers, was left to do exercises alone with little guidance, and went through multiple rounds of PT without ever fully recovering.
I then found significant healing with Pilates. I discovered it was doing what the poor-quality PT didn't — challenging me with progressive overload, and focusing on whole-body posture. Once I became a certified Pilates instructor and began incorporating it into my PT treatments, my patients' outcomes transformed. That experience became the foundation of everything I do at Solis.
I earned my B.S. in Exercise Physiology and my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Florida. Before opening Solis, I worked as a swim coach, a geriatric personal trainer, and spent years as a travel PT — working in athletic outpatient clinics and home health settings across Florida. That range gave me something most clinicians don't have: a long-term vision for your health. I'm not just thinking about getting you out of pain today — I'm thinking about your strength, resilience, and independence for decades to come.
At Solis, every session is with me — not an assistant, not an aide, not a student, not someone who's never met you before. Here's what that looks like:
Manual therapy, dry needling, and gentle movement to reduce pain and restore function — so we have the foundation to build on.
With less pain, we build movement quality — teaching your body how to work the way it was designed to, with proper mechanics and control.
Progressive strength training to build resilience, prevent re-injury, and keep you strong, capable, and independent for life.
When insurance controls your care, it controls your outcomes.
Limited appointment times. Capped visit counts. Treatments denied regardless of what you actually need. Multiple patients seen at once. A different provider every visit.
Longer, focused one-on-one sessions. A treatment plan built entirely around your goals. No surprise denials, no referral hoops. Just you and me, doing the work.
In many cases, direct-pay PT is actually more cost-effective than using insurance. Fewer visits to get better results means less time off work, less frustration, and a faster return to the life you love.
Many clients use their HSA or FSA to cover sessions — making high-quality care more accessible than you might think.
Your health is worth investing in — and so is your time.
Evidence-based, one-on-one evaluation and treatment to get you out of pain and back to what you love — faster.
